Drake’s ICEMAN finally arrives in just a few hours, but fans are still walking into release night with almost no official information. No cover art, no confirmed tracklist, no credited features, and no album trailer have been revealed ahead of midnight — an unusually secretive rollout even by Drake standards.
That mystery has only intensified anticipation around the rapper’s ninth studio album, which officially drops May 15 through OVO Sound and Republic Records. Earlier today, Spotify added fuel to the campaign by posting a frozen version of Drake’s iconic owl logo, while DJ Akademiks separately claimed the album would arrive on time despite.
When Does Drake’s ICEMAN Release?
ICEMAN is scheduled to release at midnight local time on Friday, May 15, 2026. The album marks Drake’s first solo full-length project since For All the Dogs in 2023, following his collaborative 2025 release Some Sexy Songs 4 U with PartyNextDoor.
Just hours before the album becomes available, Drake will premiere “Iceman: Episode 4” on YouTube at 9:45 p.m. ET on May 14. Previous livestream episodes have doubled as short films, listening sessions, and visual teasers tied directly to the album’s aesthetic.
Why the ICEMAN Rollout Feels Different
Drake began hinting at the project nearly two years ago. Early clues surfaced in August 2024 around the release of the 100 Gigs EP, but the campaign escalated dramatically throughout 2025 and 2026 with increasingly theatrical marketing stunts across Toronto.
One of the biggest moments arrived on April 20, when a 25-foot ice sculpture appeared downtown containing the album’s hidden release date. Fans chipped away at the installation using hammers and pickaxes before police eventually sealed off the area after portions of the sculpture were damaged and briefly set on fire.
Earlier this month, Drake also transformed parts of Toronto into extensions of the album concept. Massive ice blocks appeared throughout the city, while footage emerged showing the rapper filming new visuals near Downsview Airport surrounded by frozen props, trucks, and heavy security.
Unlike traditional album campaigns built around interviews and radio appearances, ICEMAN has leaned almost entirely on atmosphere, symbolism, and livestream storytelling.
What Songs Have Been Released So Far?
Three major songs have already emerged during the rollout cycle, though Drake has not officially confirmed whether all of them will appear on the final album.
“What Did I Miss?” launched following the first ICEMAN livestream on July 5, 2025 and immediately sparked conversation for its lyrics referencing fractured relationships and public scrutiny after the Kendrick Lamar feud.
A second livestream introduced “Which One” featuring Central Cee, released July 25. Then came “Dog House” featuring Yeat and Julia Wolf, released September 9 after Episode 3.
Additional previews throughout the livestreams hinted at unreleased material involving 21 Savage, Playboi Carti, Cash Cobain, and possibly more collaborators, though none have been formally announced.
The Pinocchio Symbolism Explained
One recurring detail throughout the ICEMAN livestreams has been the repeated appearance of Pinocchio figures. Episode 2 followed Drake through Manchester while the character pursued him across the city, ending with a cryptic “COMING SOON” teaser.
Fans quickly interpreted the imagery as commentary on accusations, misinformation, and public narratives surrounding Drake after 2024’s explosive rap battle cycle.
Episode 3 expanded the concept further, featuring multiple Pinocchio figures gathered around a table marked with the word “LEGACY” written in red paint.
Features, Cover Art and Tracklist Remain Unknown
Perhaps the most unusual part of the rollout is how much remains hidden. With only hours left before release, Drake still has not revealed the album cover, total track count, or official features list.
That silence has created nonstop speculation online. Rumors about appearances from Future, 21 Savage, Central Cee, Yeat, Carti, and others have dominated social media throughout release week, especially after Future posted photos of diamond-covered Audemars Piguet watches resembling Drake’s recent “ice” imagery.
Whether those theories prove accurate will become clear at midnight.
