Eminem is giving fans and sneaker collectors a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own one of the rarest pieces of his personal collection. The rapper has officially launched the Marshall Mathers Foundation Auction through Julien’s Auctions, featuring more than 100 signed pairs of sneakers, including the never-before-available Air Jordan 3 “Slim Shady” Player Exclusive created for his iconic Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show performance.
At the center of the sale is the Air Jordan 3 “Slim Shady” PE, a sneaker designed exclusively for Eminem’s appearance alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent during the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show. The pair features custom “HI MY NAME IS SLIM SHADY” heel tabs, paying tribute to one of his most recognizable alter egos.
In a post announcing the auction, Eminem revealed that the sneakers were never intended for public release.
“The Air Jordan 3 ‘Slim Shady’ Player Exclusive Sneaker was never intended for public release. Created specifically for the Super Bowl LVI halftime show performance back in ’22, only 45 pairs were ever made — and none have been available to the general public until now.”
He added that fans can bid on the rare sneakers alongside more than 100 signed pairs from his personal collection, with bidding closing August 25 beginning at 10 a.m. PT.
“100% of proceeds benefit the Marshall Mathers Foundation, providing resources and opportunity to disadvantaged and at-risk youth in Detroit and surrounding communities.”
According to Julien’s Auctions, the event represents the largest single-sale collection of Eminem memorabilia ever offered at public auction. Every pair is hand-signed by Eminem and includes its original box, making the collection especially appealing to sneaker enthusiasts and memorabilia collectors.
Beyond the Super Bowl-exclusive Air Jordan 3s, the catalog includes several highly coveted collaborations, including the Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan 4, the 2017 Air Jordan 4 “Encore,” stage-worn Nike Air Max 90 “Soundstorm” sneakers from his performance at Saudi Arabia’s MDLBEAST festival, and signed pairs from Nike, adidas and PUMA.
Paul Rosenberg, president of Shady Records and CEO of Goliath Artists, described the collection as a reflection of Eminem’s longtime passion for sneakers while highlighting the charitable mission behind the sale.
The auction also continues a philanthropic tradition that stretches back nearly two decades. Since launching sneaker-related charity initiatives in 2006, Eminem has regularly leveraged rare footwear releases to support the Marshall Mathers Foundation, which provides food, shelter, education and other opportunities for disadvantaged and at-risk youth across Detroit and surrounding Michigan communities.
