NAV and Young Thug have reunited for the first time in over five years on their new single “Trimski,” marking a notable return to a partnership that helped define an era of melodic trap in the late 2010s.
Produced by Ty Gotem, Elementry and Rel, with additional production from Rodrigo Barahona and co-writing by Frost, the track revives the chemistry first heard during the Perfect Timing period, when Young Thug was among the earliest major artists to publicly cosign NAV.
Since then, the duo has delivered fan favorites including “Boy Back,” “Spend It,” “No Debate,” and “Reprecussions” from NAV’s 2020 project Emergency Tsunami. “Trimski” now stands as their first collaboration since that release, ending a five-year gap.
Lyrically, the song draws from Atlanta slang while weaving in Toronto vernacular. NAV flips the word “trim” into “Trimski,” adding the -ski suffix often heard in Toronto slang. The term suggests someone exceptionally well put together — polished to an excessive degree and openly recognized as “overly trim.”
The song is now available on all streaming platforms.
