aespa made a memorable first impression at Lollapalooza Chicago on Sunday (Aug. 2), delivering a dynamic one-hour performance that blended career-defining hits with songs from their latest releases. Taking over the Allianz Stage in Grant Park, the quartet showcased polished choreography, live-band arrangements and commanding stage presence.
Opening with their breakthrough single “Black Mamba,” Karina, Winter, Giselle and Ningning led fans through a 15-song set spanning nearly every era of their career. The performance continued with fan favorites including “Next Level,” “Armageddon,” “Supernova,” “Whiplash” and “Hold On Tight.”
One of the biggest surprises arrived midway through the show when aespa performed “Switchblade” live for the first time, bringing Ty Dolla $ign onstage for the collaboration.
The Lollapalooza appearance comes just over two months after aespa released their second Korean studio album, LEMONADE, on May 29, 2026. The project debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 with 41,000 equivalent album units, becoming the group’s third top-10 album in the United States. It further expanded a résumé that already includes successful releases such as Girls, MY WORLD, Drama, Armageddon, Whiplash and Rich Man.
Commercial success has remained equally strong in South Korea. LEMONADE sold 842,131 copies on Hanteo during its first day, recording the second-biggest opening day for a female artist in 2026 and one of the strongest first-day performances ever achieved by a female K-pop group.
The group has also continued expanding internationally. Following the album’s release, aespa unveiled their first Japanese mini album, Kiss n Tell, introducing another chapter before launching the North American leg of their SYNK : COMPLæXITY World Tour later this year.
