aespa officially launched their SYNK : COMPLæXITY World Tour on August 7 with the first of two concerts at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome. Opening the global trek in front of a hometown crowd, the quartet unveiled a brand-new production centered around their new album, LEMONADE, while mixing career-defining hits with solo performances from every member.
The setlist reflected aespa’s evolution since debut, placing new material alongside fan favorites that have shaped the group’s rise into one of K-pop’s biggest touring acts. From the explosive opener “Lemonade” to the emotional closer “Till We Die,” the concert showcased the group’s signature futuristic concept through elaborate visuals, cinematic staging and synchronized choreography.
Rather than relying solely on recent releases, aespa balanced every era of its catalog. Early in the show, “Switchblade” and “Whiplash” energized the audience before classics like “Black Mamba” reminded fans of the group’s beginnings. Tracks from LEMONADE, including “WDA,” “Can’t Help Myself,” “Bite,” “SHAKIN’” and “My Plan,” sat comfortably alongside global hits “Armageddon,” “Drama,” “Supernova” and “Next Level.”
One of the evening’s biggest highlights came midway through the concert, when each member took the stage individually. Karina performed “16 Bit,” Winter delivered “Saddle Up,” Giselle showcased “BYEB4HELLO,” and Ningning closed the solo section with the emotional “I Love You But I Gotta Let You Go.” The individual stages offered each member an opportunity to highlight her own musical identity before reuniting for the final stretch of the show.
The opening concert arrived less than a week after aespa’s acclaimed Lollapalooza Chicago debut on August 2, where the group surprised fans by bringing out Ty Dolla $ign for the first live performance of “Switchblade.” That festival appearance also featured the live debuts of several LEMONADE tracks, offering an early preview of what fans could expect from the world tour.
The new tour follows another commercially successful chapter for the quartet. Released on May 29, LEMONADE debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 with 41,000 equivalent album units, becoming aespa’s third top-10 album in the United States. In South Korea, the album sold 842,131 copies on Hanteo during its first day, marking one of the strongest opening-day performances ever recorded by a female K-pop group.
Following two nights in Seoul, SYNK : COMPLæXITY will travel across Asia before reaching Latin America, North America and Europe through February 2027.
