Rather than simply translating the futuristic formula that made the quartet global stars, KISS N TELL embraces bright J-pop melodies, glossy production, and playful songwriting while preserving the vocal precision and experimental edge that define KARINA, GISELLE, WINTER, and NINGNING.
Released during one of the group’s strongest commercial periods, KISS N TELL marks another important step in aespa’s expansion into Japan. The mini album follows the success of LEMONADE, which debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 with 41,000 equivalent album units, becoming the quartet’s third top-10 entry. In South Korea, the album also opened with 842,131 first-day sales on Hanteo, recording one of the biggest opening days by a female K-pop group in 2026.
Across six tracks, KISS N TELL rarely loses momentum. Every song feels intentionally crafted around Japan’s pop sensibilities without abandoning the polished electronic production that has become synonymous with aespa. Instead of chasing heavier concepts, the project favors shimmering synths, infectious hooks, warm harmonies, and colorful arrangements that make it one of the group’s most accessible releases to date.
The title track, “KISS N TELL,” immediately establishes the album’s direction. Dreamy vocal harmonies give way to sparkling synth-pop production before exploding into a chorus built around the irresistibly catchy “I wanna kiss and tell” refrain. The amusement park-inspired music video reinforces the song’s carefree energy, while the members effortlessly balance playful charisma with razor-sharp vocal performances.
“Orbit Pop” continues the momentum with energetic house rhythms and celestial synth textures. Its buoyant tempo rarely slows. Among the biggest surprises is “Fangirl,” which trades bright electronic production for a groovy bassline, retro-funk influences, and playful spoken-word moments.
Elsewhere, songs like “Attitude” introduce welcome experimentation without disrupting the project’s cohesion, while the remaining tracks maintain a consistent balance between polished pop songwriting and sleek production. Even when the album shifts direction, it never feels disconnected.
Closing track “In Halo” provides the emotional payoff. Built around gentle guitar, dreamy synth pads, and subtle R&B influences, the song showcases some of the softest vocal performances of KARINA, GISELLE, WINTER, and NINGNING’s careers. Its comforting atmosphere serves as a fitting finale, ending the mini album on a warm and reflective note instead of another explosive chorus.
