The announcement follows reports earlier in October that the singer was preparing new solo material. Although details about the track’s sound, concept, and accompanying promotions have yet to be revealed, the title marks the beginning of another chapter in NAYEON’s solo career, which has continued alongside her activities with TWICE.

Fans first began speculating about a possible comeback in September, when NAYEON launched her own official YouTube channel, IM NAYEON, on September 22, coinciding with her 31st birthday. The channel’s minimalist visual identity, featuring white feathers and light-blue lettering, prompted theories that the singer was preparing a new musical era. At the time, however, neither the channel nor its initial uploads confirmed an upcoming release.

“NA-sty” now provides the clearest indication of her next move as a soloist. The single will follow “Love Is Enough,” her original solo contribution to the soundtrack of the Korean drama Sold Out on You, released in May 2026. It will also mark her first announced standalone solo single since her second mini-album, NA, arrived in June 2024.

NAYEON launched her solo career in June 2022 with IM NAYEON, led by “POP!,” which became one of the defining solo releases of her career. The mini-album showcased a bright, playful pop sound while establishing her identity beyond TWICE. Two years later, NA introduced a more confident direction through its title track, “ABCD,” and collaborations with artists including Sam Kim and KISS OF LIFE’s Julie.

Since the release of NA, NAYEON has continued exploring opportunities outside the group. Her solo activities have included a Korean version of “Beyond” for the Moana 2 soundtrack, the official release of her cover of Ikimonogakari’s “Kimagure Romantic,” and an appearance on the remix of Tayla Parx’s “Era.”
