What began as a simple engagement idea has evolved into a reliable snapshot of listener sentiment, highlighting not only breakout hits but also defining cultural moments in pop music. In 2025, the results spoke clearly. Pop dominated the conversation, and for the first time since the feature began, every monthly winner was led by a female artist. Tate McRae emerged as the year’s most consistent force with four wins, followed closely by Sabrina Carpenter with three. Here is a complete look at every InMusic Song of the Month in 2025, as chosen by fans.
January: “Sports Car” – Tate McRae
Tate McRae opened the year in commanding form with “Sports Car,” a sleek and confident pop track from her third studio album So Close to What. Built on glossy production and restrained tension, the song signaled a refined artistic direction and quickly became one of the year’s most appreciated releases.
