The InMusic Awards 2025 crowned more than just one dominant winner. Tate McRae, who led this year’s nominations with 10 nods, emerged as the biggest victor, securing three major wins, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for So Close to What. She also claimed Best Country Song for her crossover collaboration with Morgan Wallen, “What I Want.”
Notably, for the sixth consecutive year, Artist of the Year was awarded to a female artist. With her win, Tate McRae joins an elite list of previous recipients that includes Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and Olivia Rodrigo.
Morgan Wallen and Tyla tied with McRae for overall wins, each dominating their respective genres. Wallen swept the Country categories, while Tyla led the Afrobeats field.
Several artists followed closely behind with two wins each, including Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Jisoo, Zayn, and Lisa. Meanwhile, KATSEYE was named Group of the Year, a result of their massive 2025 breakout fueled by the success of their Beautiful Chaos EP.
The New Artist of the Year award went to Addison Rae, continuing a recent trend of female winners in the category. Since Måneskin’s win in 2021, the title has been claimed exclusively by women: Dove Cameron (2022), Ice Spice (2023), Sabrina Carpenter (2024), and now Addison Rae in 2025.
First introduced in 2020, the InMusic Awards are entirely fan-voted, allowing audiences to choose their favorite artists, albums, and songs across multiple genres. The awards aim to reflect the most impactful and defining musical moments of the year.
As previously noted, Tate McRae led all artists in nominations. She was followed by Sabrina Carpenter with nine, Bad Bunny with eight, and both Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga with six each. Notably, despite their highly successful eras, Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift did not secure any wins.
