Lady Gaga treats us to new music this Friday. The pop star has released her new album, Harlequin, which serves as a companion to the film Joker: Folie à Deux, where she stars as Harley Quinn. The album isn’t entirely original; it features a mix of covers and new songs, reflecting the film’s musical elements. With covers like “That’s Life” and “Oh, When the Saints,” as well as original tracks like “The Joker” and “Folie à Deux,” the LP’s main theme aligns with the film’s narrative. Describing the project, Gaga revealed that Harlequin stemmed from her feeling that she wasn’t done with Harley Quinn after filming wrapped. The 38-year-old singer also explained that it’s “indicative of a complex woman who wants to be whoever she wants at any given moment.” Overall, Harlequin features 13 tracks and offers a first glimpse of what the Grammy-winning artist has been working on, with LG7 slated for release in February 2025. In the meantime, check out InMusic’s ranking of all the tracks from Lady Gaga’s Harlequin.
