The last New Music Friday of September brought not only fresh music but also some surprises. Lady Gaga dropped Harlequin, a companion album to Joker: Folie à Deux. The Weeknd, gearing up for the release of his seventh studio album Hurry Up Tomorrow, unveiled “Timeless,” featuring Playboi Carti, as the second single. Linkin Park also has a new album on the horizon, with their comeback LP From Zero set for release on November 15th. In the meantime, their second single, “Heavy Is The Crown,” hit the airwaves last week. Latin music fans were also treated to a new single from the queen herself, Shakira, who released “Soltera.”

As usual, InMusic turned to X (formerly Twitter) to poll fans on their favorite new releases—and the results are in. Lady Gaga topped the poll as Harlequin secured 32% of the votes, closely followed by Linkin Park’s “Heavy Is The Crown” and Shakira’s “Soltera,” both tied at 25%. Hot on their heels is The Weeknd’s “Timeless” with 18%.
As mentioned, Harlequin serves as the companion album to the upcoming film Joker: Folie à Deux, where Gaga portrays the iconic Harley Quinn. The film will be released this Friday, October 4th, and the album acts as a sonic journey through the essence of its characters. Harlequin features 13 tracks, including original songs like “The Joker” and covers of timeless classics such as “That’s Life.”
