Lil Wayne is back with Tha Carter VI. Released on June 6, 2025, via Young Money and Republic Records, the album marks the latest chapter in one of hip-hop’s most influential series. It’s been five years since his last solo studio album, Funeral, and this time, Wayne brings new fire and a long list of collaborators—from Bono to Andrea Bocelli.
The rollout for Tha Carter VI was anything but ordinary. Wayne confirmed the release date during a Cetaphil Super Bowl ad, where sharp-eyed fans spotted jersey numbers and signs teasing “06-06-25.” Since then, the excitement has only grown.
The 19-track project blends punchy trap beats (like “Banned From No”) with more introspective cuts (such as “If I Plated Guitar”), showcasing the rapper’s unique vision. Beyond heavy-hitting features—Big Sean, MGK, Kodak Black, and Jelly Roll—Wayne also included a guest spot for his 16-year-old son, Kameron Carter.
To mark this milestone release, Wayne is hitting the road for The Carter VI Tour. The 34-city run kicks off at Madison Square Garden tonight and will feature support from Tyga, NoCap, and Belly Gang Kushington.
