The Path to Tha Carter VI

Tha Carter VI marks Lil Wayne’s first solo studio album of entirely new material since 2020’s Funeral, his thirteenth album. Funeral featured a wide range of collaborations, including Big Sean and the late XXXTENTACION. In the years since, Wayne dropped the collaborative mixtape Trust Fund Babies with Rich the Kid in 2021, followed by The Fix Before Tha VI in 2023—a teaser project leading into this next chapter. That same year, he also released his first official greatest hits collection, I Am Music, which highlighted iconic tracks like “Kant Nobody” and “Mr. Carter.”
