St. Vincent‘s new album, “All Born Is Screaming,” presents a perfect fusion of songwriting, sounds, and vocals. Released via Total Pleasure Records and Virgin Music Group, this album marks the musician’s seventh studio release and her first since 2021’s “The Nowhere Inn.” Notably, it’s also the first time she has entirely self-produced a record. In a recent interview, St. Vincent revealed her intention to “go deeper in finding her own sonic vocabulary” with this album, likening its sonic landscape to a solitary walk into the woods.

Featuring 10 tracks with a total runtime of 41 minutes, the album features a song, titled “Sweetest Fruit,” dedicated to the late producer Sophie: “My Sophie climbs the roof to get a better view of the moon.” Despite never having met the producer, St. Vincent expressed her admiration for Sophie’s work in an interview with Rolling Stone UK.

The album culminates with the title track, “All Born Screaming,” which stands out as the longest composition. It features instrumental breaks between 2:38 and 4:00, while in the final two minutes, St. Vincent brings the album to a close by repeating just three words: All Born Screaming.

From “Hell Is Near” to “All Born Screaming,” below you can find InMusic’s ranking of the ten songs from St. Vincent’s seventh album.
