Bebe Rexha has officially entered a new chapter. The singer-songwriter’s fourth studio album, Dirty Blonde, arrived on June 12 through Empire Distribution, marking her first major project released entirely outside the traditional major-label system.
The 15-track set represents more than a new album cycle. For Rexha, Dirty Blonde serves as a statement of creative freedom following her departure from Warner Records and a public push toward artistic independence that has unfolded throughout the past year.
The road to Dirty Blonde began after the release of 2023’s Bebe. While supporting that album on the Best F*n Night of My Life Tour, Rexha faced one of the most difficult moments of her career when a concertgoer threw a cellphone at her face during a New York show, causing an injury that required stitches. The incident became a defining moment in a period that also included growing frustrations with the music industry.
By mid-2025, Rexha was openly discussing challenges behind the scenes. Momentum shifted in December when she signed with Timeline Management. A month later, fans began noticing a dramatic change in tone across her social media presence. On January 11, 2026, Rexha revealed she was leaving Warner Records and moving forward independently through Empire Distribution.
That independence became the foundation of Dirty Blonde. In interviews, Rexha described the era as embracing every side of herself without being confined to a single sound or commercial expectation. The project reflects that philosophy throughout its tracklist, blending pop, EDM, hip-hop, country influences, and dance music into what has been marketed as a full visual album experience.
Every song on Dirty Blonde is paired with a music video, with Rexha treating each track as its own standalone release rather than focusing solely on traditional singles. The ambitious rollout began in February with promotional releases “I Like You Better Than Me,” “Çike Çike,” and “Hysteria.”
The album’s official campaign accelerated with “New Religion,” released on March 6. The track samples Faithless’ classic “Insomnia” and reunited Rexha with electronic music influences that have shaped several of her biggest hits. Follow-up single “Sad Girls,” a collaboration with David Guetta, arrived on May 29 and marked the pair’s sixth collaboration overall.
