It’s time to refresh your playlist with some exciting new releases!
August kicks off on a high note with an impressive lineup of new music. Leading the charge is none other than Chappell Roan, who unleashes her new single “The Subway,” her second release of 2025 following “The Giver.” She first performed the track live at Governor’s Ball in June 2024, and after months of growing anticipation, the studio version is finally here. Co-written with Dan Nigro and described by Chappell as a fun song to sing, “The Subway” serves as a single from her highly anticipated sophomore album. A music video shot in New York will accompany the release.
Demi Lovato returns with “Fast,” the lead single kicking off a new dance-pop era. Produced with Zhone, the track marks a major shift from her recent rock-oriented albums (Holy Fvck, Revamped) toward an electric, rave-influenced sound. The song is described as a return to pop vitality and marks Demi’s first release in two years.
Metro Boomin also makes a highly anticipated solo comeback with A Futuristic Summa. Originally announced for July 22, the project was pushed back to the first New Music Friday of August. The album is expected to feature several high-profile collaborations, including Young Thug, Quavo, and Future.
Reneé Rapp rounds out the week with Bite Me, her sophomore album following the breakout LP Snow Angel in 2023. The new record includes 12 tracks, featuring previously released singles “Leave Me Alone,” “Mad,” and “Why Is She Still Here?”
