May is drawing to a close, and summer is just around the corner. So, what better way to welcome it than by diving into some fresh new music? This New Music Friday—the last of the month—is packed with major releases.
Leading our weekly roundup is none other than Miley Cyrus. The Grammy-winning pop star unleashes her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful. Marking her first visual album, the project is a genre-defying experience, blending elements of pop, rock, disco, funk, and electronic music. Miley showcases her full vocal range throughout. Along with the album’s launch, she also releases “Easy Lover” as the third official single.
Lorde continues building anticipation for her fourth studio album, Virgin, due out June 27. Following April’s release of “What Was That,” the New Zealand artist now shares “Man of the Year” as the project’s second single. A music video directed by Grant Singer dropped alongside the track, featuring Lorde dancing in an empty loft—at times with duct tape across her chest and moving through sand.
Tate McRae continues to ride the high of her chart-topping third studio album So Close to What, which featured the smash hit “Sports Car.” Currently on the European leg of her Miss Possessive World Tour, the Canadian star drops new music this Friday: “Just Keep Watching,” taken from the F1 The Movie soundtrack.
