The first New Music Friday of June has arrived, bringing a packed release schedule led by Taylor Swift’s long-awaited return and Niall Horan’s first album in nearly three years.
Taylor Swift headlines this week’s releases with “I Knew It, I Knew You,” an original song written for Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5. The track arrives after days of intense fan speculation sparked by cryptic countdowns and social media clues.
On June 1, Swift finally confirmed the rumors, revealing that the song was created specifically for the upcoming animated film. “I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie,” she wrote on social media. According to Swift, she was invited to watch an early version of the film and immediately felt inspired to write the song afterward. The release marks Swift’s first new material since her record-breaking twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
Elsewhere, Niall Horan officially launches a new era with Dinner Party, his fourth studio album and first full-length project since 2023’s The Show. Released through Capitol Records, the 12-track collection arrives after months of anticipation and follows a rollout built around the singles “Dinner Party,” “Little More Time,” and “End of an Era.”
The album’s concept is rooted in a pivotal personal moment. Horan has revealed that the title track was inspired by the dinner party where he first met his long-time girlfriend, with that evening becoming the emotional foundation of the record.
