“The label has made the decision to postpone our shows in Chicago and Minneapolis as Megan is recovering from a concussion,” the statement reads. “We are incredibly sorry to disappoint our fans. We know how much you’ve been looking forward to these shows, and that many of you have traveled long distances to be there. We don’t take that lightly, and we’re truly sorry for the disappointment.”
The team added that replacement dates would be announced as soon as possible, asking ticket holders to keep their purchases. “We can’t wait to see you in both cities again soon,” the statement continued, thanking fans for their “continued love, support and understanding.”
Shortly afterward, Megan shared a personal message through her Instagram Stories, addressing the group’s fanbase, EYEKONS, and confirming that she had suffered a concussion. She also explained that she had wanted to perform despite her condition but had been advised against returning to the stage before recovering.
“I am so sorry that our Detroit, Chicago, and Minneapolis shows have been postponed. I currently have a concussion, and am doing everything i possibly can to recover from it so i can be on stage for you all again,” Megan wrote. “I wanted to try my best to still make the show happen, but ive been strongly advised by medical professionals that i need to take this time to fully recover, and come back safely.”
The singer ended her message by apologizing to fans and expressing how difficult the decision had been. “I love you all so much, i deeply appreciate your understanding, and i am devastated to have to do this. I cannot wait to make it up to you eyekons, and give you the show you deserve.”
The latest update clarifies the circumstances behind three consecutive postponements. KATSEYE first canceled its November 3 performance at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena, with the announcement arriving 30 minutes before the scheduled start. The following night, the United Center confirmed that the November 5 Chicago concert would not go ahead, initially citing Megan’s illness. The group’s November 7 performance at Minneapolis’ Target Center was subsequently postponed as well.
