After years of anticipation, A$AP Rocky has officially confirmed that his long-awaited fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb, is finished and ready for release. Speaking about the project, the Harlem rapper explained that he no longer wants to set release dates or risk disappointing fans.

Imma just drop it, I don’t wanna say another date, disappoint people. I got a lot to say—it’s done, it’s been done, I just want to drop it,” Rocky said in a new GQ interview. “It’s my best so far.

Don’t Be Dumb will be Rocky’s first full-length project since 2018’s Testing, which pushed boundaries with experimental production and collaborations. The new album, originally set for summer 2025 via AWGE, A$AP Worldwide, Polo Grounds, and RCA, has already built major hype thanks to its high-profile features, with expected contributions from Pharrell Williams, Madlib, Metro Boomin, Mike Dean, Dean Blunt, and The Alchemist, among others. So far, Rocky has previewed several tracks, including “Highjack” featuring Jessica Pratt, “Ruby Rosary” with J. Cole, “Tailor Swif,” and “Pray4DaGang” featuring KayCyy.

However, the road to Don’t Be Dumb has been anything but smooth. Originally announced during Paris Fashion Week in 2024 with an August release date, the project faced multiple delays due to sample clearances and leaks. In a Billboard cover story later that year, Rocky admitted the setbacks were frustrating but necessary to preserve the album’s quality.

His previous album, Testing, was released in May 2018. That album featured some of Rocky’s biggest collaborations, including guest appearances from Kid Cudi, FKA Twigs, and Frank Ocean. The LP debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, earning the rapper his third consecutive top-five album on the chart.
