Saturday Night Live has officially announced its return date following the holiday break, and the first episode of 2026 is shaping up to be a notable one. NBC confirmed that the long-running sketch series will return on January 17, ending a month-long hiatus that began after the December 20 Christmas episode hosted by Ariana Grande.

The January comeback episode will feature actor Finn Wolfhard as host, marking his first time leading the iconic Studio 8H stage. Joining him will be A$AP Rocky, who is set to make his official SNL debut as a musical guest. While the Harlem rapper previously appeared on the show in 2018 alongside Donald Glover, this will be his first solo performance in that role.

Rocky’s booking comes at a pivotal moment in his career. Just a day prior to his SNL debut, the rapper will release his long-awaited new album, Don’t Be Dumb. Over the past few days, he confirmed that the record will drop on January 16 and feature 17 tracks. He has also unveiled several cover artworks, building anticipation for one of the most anticipated releases of 2026.

Airing live at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC, the episode will also be available for streaming on Peacock the following day.
