After weeks of silence, Ava Max has broken her social media hiatus—just hours before the release of her highly anticipated third studio album, Don’t Click Play. The pop star re-emerged with a short but striking message: “In due time, I have so much to say. But for now, Don’t Click Play.” The post marks her first public statement since early July, instantly sparking excitement among her fanbase, the “Avatars,” who had been anxiously awaiting news of the album’s rollout.

Arriving August 22 via Atlantic Records, Don’t Click Play represents a new era for Ava Max, both musically and personally. Unlike her previous albums, which leaned heavily into electro-pop, the new project widens her sonic palette. Across 12 tracks, Ava explores pop-rock, intimate ballads, and even country influences—genres she has never fully embraced before.
The album features singles “Lost Your Faith,” “Lovin Myself,” and “Wet, Hot American Dream.” Overall, the LP features 12 tracks, including new titles such as “How Can I Dance,” “Sucks to Be My Ex,” and “World’s Smallest Violin.”
Still, the journey to this release hasn’t been without hurdles. Earlier this summer, Ava canceled her planned Don’t Click Play Tour across North America and Europe, citing the need to reimagine the live shows so they could meet her creative vision. While she reassured fans that it would be “worth the wait,” the decision stirred disappointment. Combined with her sudden absence from Instagram, TikTok, and X, speculation grew about possible delays or setbacks.
