Ava Max has officially returned with her long-awaited third studio album, Don’t Click Play, out today (August 22) via Atlantic Records. After months of anticipation, delays, and complete silence on social media, the pop star’s new era has finally arrived.

The album spans 12 tracks, opening with the title song “Don’t Click Play” and moving through a mix of pop, dance-pop, and ballads. It features the previously released singles “Lost Your Faith,” “Lovin Myself,” and “Wet, Hot American Dream,”as well as brand-new cuts like “How Can I Dance,” “Sucks to Be My Ex,” and “World’s Smallest Violin.”

The road to Don’t Click Play was anything but simple. Originally, Ava had planned to release the project in late 2024, but she ultimately scrapped much of the material, explaining that it lacked the cohesion she envisioned. Determined to deliver her best work, she went back into the studio to reimagine the record.

Adding to the intrigue was Ava’s sudden disappearance from social media in early July. For weeks, her fans—known as the “Avatars”—were left in the dark with no updates on Instagram, TikTok, or X. Just hours before the album dropped, however, she broke her silence with a cryptic yet striking message: “In due time, I have so much to say. But for now, Don’t Click Play.”

Ava Max’s return also comes after the cancellation of her planned Don’t Click Play Tour, originally set to cover North America and Europe this summer. She explained that she wanted more time to design a live experience worthy of the album’s vision, promising that new dates will be announced soon.

The wait is over, and two years after Diamonds & Dancefloors, Don’t Click Play is finally here.
