Ayra Starr has entered a new chapter. The Nigerian singer and global Afrobeats force has released her new single, “Where Do We Go,” marking her first solo track since last year’s collaboration “Who’s That Girl” with Rema.
The release arrives via Mavin Records and signals the beginning of what appears to be the next phase of the artist’s rapidly expanding career. Produced by ILYA, the track leans into Afro-electronic textures while maintaining the rhythmic pulse that has defined much of Starr’s catalog.
Lyrically, “Where Do We Go” explores the lingering questions that often follow an intense relationship. Starr delivers lines that move between vulnerability and quiet confidence, capturing the internal dialogue that comes after a complicated goodbye.
The song follows a period of significant momentum for the 23-year-old artist. Over the past few years, Ayra Starr has grown into one of the most recognizable voices in contemporary Afrobeats. Her breakthrough hit “Rush” continues to stand as one of the genre’s defining global successes, surpassing 500 million streams on Spotify. The achievement made Starr the first African female artist to have multiple songs exceed the half-billion mark on the platform.
Recognition has followed. Starr recently earned her second Grammy nomination in the Best African Music Performance category for “Gimme Dat” featuring Wizkid. She also collected two MOBO Awards and secured her first BET Award for Best International Act.
“Where Do We Go” is now available on all streaming platforms.
