Billie Eilish has added another milestone to an already historic run. Hit Me Hard and Soft has officially surpassed 10 billion streams on Spotify, becoming the fastest album by a female artist to reach the mark in the platform’s history.
The 10-billion milestone makes it Eilish’s third project to cross that threshold on Spotify. When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? currently stands at 13.5 billion streams, while Don’t Smile at Me has amassed 12.3 billion.
Released on May 17, 2024, through Darkroom and Interscope Records, the album marked Eilish’s third studio set. She co-wrote the project with her brother and longtime collaborator Finneas O’Connell, who also produced the record.
Commercially, the album topped charts in more than 20 countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, and Canada. In the United States, it debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, with all 10 tracks entering the Billboard Hot 100’s top 40.
Singles such as “Lunch” and “Birds of a Feather” fueled the album’s global reach, the latter peaking at No. 2 on the Hot 100. At the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, the project earned seven nominations, including Album of the Year. “Wildflower” later secured Song of the Year, extending Eilish and Finneas’ record in the category.
