Billie Eilish has unveiled a new trailer for her upcoming concert film Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), offering a closer look at one of the most technically ambitious live projects of her career. Released on April 13, the preview blends behind-the-scenes footage with immersive stage visuals.
Directed alongside James Cameron, the film captures performances from her 2025 tour stop in Manchester using advanced 3D and virtual reality technology. Cameron’s presence is felt immediately in the trailer, where he frames the project as artist-driven spectacle. “It’s your show. It’s your creative vision. This is going to blow people’s minds,” he says, positioning the film as both a technical showcase and a personal statement.
Eilish, meanwhile, grounds the scale in simplicity. Reflecting on her connection to performing, she explains: “The day of a show is… it just feels like any day at all. I just feel like I’m going to hang out with my friends.”
The film marks her second concert feature following 2021’s Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles, expanding on that concept with a heavier focus on immersion. Production involved partnerships with Lightstorm Entertainment and Meta, integrating VR elements designed for both theatrical screens and headset experiences. Initial filming dates back to July 2025, when Eilish first revealed during her Manchester stop that a “secret 3D project” was underway.
Momentum around the release has steadily built since late 2025, when the project was formally announced as a full-length concert film. A revised rollout schedule now places its global theatrical premiere on May 8, 2026, via Paramount Pictures.
