Billie Eilish delivered an unforgettable moment in Los Angeles on December 9, when she made a surprise appearance at the trailer launch for her upcoming 3D concert film, Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D). The fan event, hosted at the historic El Capitan Theatre, was initially billed as an exclusive first-look screening. Instead, it turned into a spontaneous celebration as the Grammy-winning artist stepped onstage to greet hundreds of stunned fans.
The evening centered on the debut trailer for Eilish’s immersive concert film, which captures the scale and intensity of her 2025 Hit Me Hard and Soft world tour. The project marks her second concert film and her most ambitious visual undertaking to date. Eilish co-directs the film alongside James Cameron.
Before the trailer began, Billie appeared from backstage to an eruption of screams. She spoke candidly about the journey behind the film, sharing her excitement and gratitude for the fans who gathered for the premiere.
The film was shot during the tour’s stop in Manchester, where Eilish teased the existence of a secret 3D project in July 2025. It was officially confirmed in November, revealing Cameron’s involvement and the use of advanced VR-ready 3D technology developed in partnership with Meta Platforms and Lightstorm Vision. Produced by Darkroom Records, Interscope Films, and Lightstorm Entertainment, the film brings together cutting-edge visual engineering with Eilish’s compelling theatrical style.
Set for theatrical release through Paramount Pictures on March 20, 2026, the concert movie will offer fans a fully immersive look at the tour’s staging, choreography, and emotional storytelling.
