Demi Lovato reassured fans after a possible allergic reaction sent her to the hospital earlier this week, sharing a brief update on Instagram after posting images showing an IV in her arm and a hospital wristband. The singer later confirmed she was doing fine, with TMZ reporting on October 27 that she had been discharged shortly after being evaluated.

In now-deleted Instagram Stories, Demi Lovato speculated that passionfruit or sushi could have triggered the reaction. “So I’m either allergic to passionfruit or sushi now!” she wrote, before following up with a reassuring message: “i’m fine!!”

According to TMZ, the 34-year-old singer did not stay overnight at the hospital, and her symptoms subsided relatively quickly. Sources with direct knowledge of the situation told the outlet that Demi Lovato was released shortly after checking in for evaluation. The singer did not publicly detail the symptoms she experienced, and neither passionfruit nor sushi has been confirmed as the cause.

The hospital visit comes as Demi Lovato has had a relatively quiet second half of 2026. Earlier this year, she completed the It’s Not That Deep Tour, her eighth concert tour, which supported her ninth studio album of the same name. Produced by Live Nation Entertainment, the 19-date run began in Orlando, Florida, on April 13, 2026, and concluded in Houston, Texas, on May 25.

Released on October 24, 2025, through Island Records and Lovato’s own imprint, DLG Recordings, It’s Not That Deep marked another chapter in the singer’s evolving pop career. The album debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200, becoming her 10th project to reach the chart’s Top 10.
