Earlier this year, Camila opened up about her vision for CC5, revealing that she’s drawing inspiration from some of the greatest songwriters in history. “I’m listening to a lot of stuff from the ’70s, ’60s, ’50s,” she shared. “I’m studying the best songwriters—Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan… but also Missy Elliott and Timbaland. I’m not listening to modern music.

Camila Cabello’s last album, C,XOXO, released in June 2024, marked a major departure in her sound. The project leaned into edgy pop and hyperpop, earning praise for its experimental production and adventurous collaborations. Tracks like “I Luv It” with Playboi Carti, “Chanel No. 5”, and the Drake-assisted “Hot Uptown” pushed her artistry into new territory, while the deluxe Magic City Edition added more layers to her bold fourth era.
