After years of teasing, delays, and speculation, Cardi B has officially turned in her long-awaited second studio album. In a recent update, the Grammy-winning rapper revealed, “Now, things are beyond my hands. Everything is in Atlantic [Records’] hands.” The confirmation signals a major milestone for Cardi’s fans, who have been waiting since her 2018 debut, Invasion of Privacy, for a full-length follow-up.

The Bronx native has been vocal about the challenges behind the album’s rollout. From label strategies to timing issues, Cardi recently expressed regret for not announcing the project earlier, saying, “I really wish I did the f—— album announcement last week when s—- was hot.”

Her sophomore effort—informally known as CB2—has been in the works for several years and is expected to include over 20 tracks. Cardi B previously confirmed that the project will feature no female rap collaborations, a surprising shift from her past partnerships with Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, and Latto. Instead, she teased new collaborations with male artists she hasn’t worked with before, igniting plenty of fan theories across social media.

So far, the new era has been previewed through two singles: “Like What (Freestyle)” and “Enough (Miami).” While there’s still no official release date, Cardi’s statement suggests the album is now ready for launch pending her label’s final rollout strategy.
