Cardi B has never been one to follow the rules when it comes to album promotion. With just days to go before the release of her long-awaited sophomore record Am I The Drama? on September 19, the Grammy-winning rapper hit the New York City subway in her latest viral stunt. Armed with vinyl and CDs, she humorously tried to “sell” copies of the project to unsuspecting commuters.
In the clip, Cardi leans into her trademark humor: “7 more days until I find out if I’m going to lose my home… Buy my album to help me save it.” Just when the skit seems complete, the video takes an unexpected twist. A rat scurries across the floor in front of her, prompting a startled, unscripted scream: “OH MY GOD!”

The subway stunt follows last week’s viral clip of Cardi setting up on the sidewalks of New York with a rug full of Am I The Drama? CDs. In that video, she joked, “My label said I gotta get out in these streets and sell this album,” while hustling her music to pedestrians like an independent street vendor. Both moments showcase the rapper’s willingness to turn old-school promotion into a 21st-century spectacle.
Cardi B has also announced a string of meet & greet events across the U.S. to coincide with release week. Starting September 19 in Long Island—the same day the 23-track album drops—she’ll meet fans in Easton, New York City, Atlanta, Houston, and Long Beach. These intimate events give fans a rare opportunity to connect with the Bronx native while celebrating the arrival of her first album since 2018’s Invasion of Privacy.
Am I The Drama? marks Cardi B’s first full-length release in seven years. The album features 23 tracks, including the singles “Outside” and “Imaginary Playerz,” the latter sampling Jay-Z’s 1997 classic. The project is expected to set the stage for Cardi’s long-awaited return to touring, with dates rumored to be announced soon.
