Tonight, Chappell Roan made her long-awaited Norwegian live debut, headlining the opening night of Øyafestivalen in Oslo. Performing on the festival’s main Amfiet stage in Tøyen Park, Chappell delivered a bold, emotional, and theatrical set—her only scheduled concert in Norway this year.

Taking the stage just after 9 p.m., Roan opened with the explosive “Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl” and kept the momentum going with a mix of fan favorites and standout tracks from her debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, including “Guilty Pleasure,” “Casual,” and “Red Wine Supernova,” along with newer singles like “The Giver” and the record-breaking “The Subway.” She also surprised the audience with a powerful cover of “Barracuda.” Beyond the music, Chappell reaffirmed her singular stage presence, sporting three different looks throughout the show.

The Øya performance marks the beginning of Roan’s European festival run. Over the next few weeks, she’s set to appear at major events including Way Out West, Sziget Festival, Lowlands, Reading & Leeds, Rock en Seine, Electric Picnic, and more.

This new chapter follows her biggest streaming milestone to date: her single “The Subway” debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Top 200 and earned the biggest opening day for a female artist in 2025. Despite this wave of success, Chappell has made it clear she’s not rushing her sophomore album—stating in a recent Vogue interview that it “doesn’t exist yet.” Instead, she’s focused on staying grounded and letting the music come naturally.
