Taylor Swift has added another historic achievement to her record-breaking career. Her latest single, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving the superstar her 15th chart-topper and rewriting multiple sections of the chart’s history books in the process.
The milestone arrives just days after the song’s June 5 release and caps off a dominant opening week that saw the track conquer streaming platforms, digital sales charts, and international rankings. With the debut, Swift becomes the artist with the most No. 1 singles this century, surpassing both Drake and Rihanna.
“I Knew It, I Knew You” also becomes Swift’s ninth No. 1 debut on the Hot 100. That achievement allows her to break the all-time record among female artists, moving past Ariana Grande’s previous mark of eight chart-topping debuts.
Beyond its No. 1 arrival, the song delivers another major statistic. Swift now owns 70 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, extending her record for the most top 10 entries by any woman in the chart’s history.
The achievement carries additional historical significance because “I Knew It, I Knew You” is tied to Disney and Pixar’s upcoming Toy Story 5. According to Billboard, the track becomes the first Disney-affiliated song ever to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Written and produced by Swift alongside longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, the song centers on Jessie’s emotional journey and blends country storytelling with contemporary pop production.
Commercial momentum was evident well before the Billboard rankings were finalized. The single debuted at No. 1 on the UK Official Singles Chart, becoming Swift’s seventh British chart-topper. Promotional efforts surrounding the release included Toy Story-themed billboards, social media campaigns, Empire State Building projections, and a music video featuring footage from the highly anticipated film.
Swift reflected on the creative process shortly after release, describing the project as both a challenge and a return to familiar songwriting instincts. The combination of Disney’s global reach and Swift’s unparalleled fan engagement quickly transformed the track into one of the biggest songs of the summer.
The new No. 1 also elevates Swift into sole possession of third place on the all-time Hot 100 leaders list. Her 15 chart-toppers move her ahead of Drake and Rihanna, leaving only Mariah Carey with 19 and The Beatles with 20 ahead of her.
