Charli XCX is celebrating a major milestone. The British pop innovator marked the one-year anniversary of her acclaimed remix album Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat with a heartfelt message to fans, reflecting on creativity, collaboration, and the endless evolution of music.

“1 year of brat and it’s completely different but also still brat!!” she wrote on Instagram. “I’ve always felt that the possibilities of music are infinite. In my mind, a song is never final… it can be morphed and transformed and made into something entirely new and different. Thank you to all the artists who were down to share visions. Thank you to everyone out there for listening xxx.”

Released on October 11, 2024, the remix project reimagined Charli’s critically acclaimed sixth studio album Brat. Featuring collaborations with an eclectic roster of artists including Billie Eilish, Lorde, Robyn, The 1975, Ariana Grande, Caroline Polachek, Troye Sivan, Bon Iver, Tinashe, and Shygirl, the double album blurred the lines between remix, reinterpretation, and reinvention.

Unlike a traditional remix collection, Brat and It’s Completely Different pushed beyond the format. Many tracks featured new lyrics, melodies, and perspectives, creating a deeply collaborative world that expanded Charli’s Brat era. One of the biggest hits was “Guess” with Billie Eilish, which later earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
