The holiday season has officially arrived on Spotify, and Christmas music is already taking over the platform’s global charts. According to Spotify’s latest update dated November 22, classic holiday hits are surging at a rapid pace, signaling the start of one of the most dominant music trends of the year. At the top of the seasonal wave is Mariah Carey, whose enduring anthem “All I Want for Christmas Is You” rockets back into the top five, rising 14–5 with more than 4 million daily streams. The song remains a cultural phenomenon every December, consistently breaking streaming records and reaffirming Carey’s status as the reigning Queen of Christmas.

Just behind her, Wham!’s beloved classic “Last Christmas” re-enters the global top 10 at No. 9 with 3.4 million streams. The 1984 hit continues to be one of the most recognizable and widely replayed Christmas songs each year, peaking previously at No. 2—blocked only by Mariah’s seasonal juggernaut. Two additional holiday staples make notable climbs into the top 20: Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” rises to No. 14 with 2.9 million plays, while Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” leaps an impressive 22 spots to No. 19, earning 2.7 million daily streams. Ariana Grande’s “Santa Tell Me,” a modern favorite among younger listeners, also posts strong gains, landing at No. 22 with more than 2.5 million streams.

The surge continues deeper into the chart, where several Christmas songs record major upward shifts. Sia’sSnowman” sits at No. 30, while Kelly Clarkson’s festive hit “Underneath the Tree,” Dean Martin’s “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!,” and Michael Bublé’s “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” all secure spots inside the top 50. Andy Williams’ “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” rises to No. 62, and The Ronettes’ timeless “Sleigh Ride” climbs to No. 68, reinforcing the annual dominance of holiday catalog music.

Despite the influx of Christmas classics, the top of the chart remains untouched. Taylor Swift holds firm at No. 1 with “The Fate of Ophelia,” the lead single from her latest album The Life of a Showgirl. With 6.987 million streams in the latest count, the track celebrates its 50th day at the summit, extending Swift’s strong global presence even as the holidays approach. Meanwhile, Tyla’sChanel” continues its upward trajectory, reaching a new peak at No. 52.
