Demi Lovato appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, bringing more than just conversation to the stage. In celebration of Fallon’s 50th birthday, the pop star surprised the host with a cake before discussing her life, music, and latest projects.

Demi revealed that her upcoming album is all about love. “I’ve been writing nothing but love songs and sexy songs because I’m in this really good place,” she shared with Fallon. “It feels good to be able to write from that place.”

The duo also reminisced about their 15-year friendship, celebrating the milestone with lighthearted stories and reflections on their bond over the years.

Demi didn’t stop at music updates. She also discussed her latest project, Child Star, a documentary she directed that is currently the number one film on Hulu. The 32-year-old singer explained how her personal experience as a former child star deeply influenced the film, which explores the unique pressures and challenges young performers face. She highlighted the darker realities of growing up in the spotlight, including trauma, dissociation, and the lack of protection for minors in the digital age.
