Dove Cameron is back with a clear vision for her next musical chapter. In a new interview with Nylon, she explains that her upcoming album will be divided into two distinct halves: one side filled with heartfelt love songs, and the other side packed with unapologetic “f‑you” anthems. But things aren’t always black and white—her recent single “French Girls” may sound romantic at first, yet carries a defiant punch. “I was obsessed with this idea of everybody in line with their pens and papers and crying eyes,” she told Nylon Magazine. Dove’s curiosity drives her to explore fame from a fresh perspective, challenging public perception much like iconic muses locked behind canvas or centuries-old statues. “What’s the POV of the Mona Lisa? Or the true diva that is Venus [de Milo] with her arms missing?”

Earlier this year, Dove ushered in her new era with the empowering electropop track “Too Much,” a bold statement on self-worth and refusing to diminish. The song resonated with fans, who elected it as their favorite new release in a February poll we run on X/Twitter. Her follow-up, “French Girls,” delves deeper, blending sultry vocals, symbolic lyrics, and daring visuals inspired by Parisian art—from the Mona Lisa to Venus de Milo.
The weekend ahead will be an exciting one for Dove’s fans as the 29-year-old singer will join the UK and Ireland leg of Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism tour. Additionally, she constantly teases her new album, with a single titled “Romeo” coming out by the end of the month.
