Drake is teasing a verse on a potential remix of Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” giving fans their first apparent preview of the unexpected country-rap collaboration. A newly circulated video shows the rapper performing a snippet of what appears to be his contribution, although neither artist has officially announced a release date.
The clip, filmed at a dimly lit gathering in Toronto, quickly spread across social media on Monday, August 31. While the footage has not been formally confirmed by Drake, Langley or their respective labels, the tease follows weeks of increasingly visible support from the rapper for the country star and her breakout hit.
Drake’s interest in “Choosin’ Texas” has been difficult to miss. He first played the song while DJing in Houston earlier this summer, later praised Langley’s songwriting as a “goated pen” and attended her Dandelion Tour show in North Little Rock, Arkansas, on August 22. During that concert, Drake was filmed singing along to the track, dancing, applauding and blowing a kiss toward Langley.
“Choosin’ Texas” has become one of the defining crossover hits of 2026. Released October 17, 2025, the Ella Langley track reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February and became the first song by a woman to simultaneously top the Hot 100, Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts.
The song has also spent more than 28 weeks at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs, setting a record for a solo female artist. By late August, it had accumulated 19 non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, matching the runs of Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” for the longest-running non-holiday No. 1 in chart history.
