Dua Lipa keeps her Radical Optimism Tour full of surprises — and her latest guest appearance may be her most iconic yet. During the second night of her sold-out San Francisco shows at the Chase Center on Sunday (October 12), the pop superstar shocked the crowd by bringing out Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day for a live duet of the band’s 2004 classic, “Wake Me Up When September Ends.”
Fans immediately took to social media to share clips from the performance, with the topic trending across X (formerly Twitter) within minutes. “DULA PEEP BROUGHT OUT BILLIE JOE?????? From THEE Green Day. My eyeballs!!!!!” one fan wrote. Another shared their regret for not being there: “wdym dua brought out billie joe & I wasn’t there.”

The performance continued Lipa’s now-expected tour tradition of bringing local legends into her shows. Just days earlier, she invited Gwen Stefani onstage in Los Angeles for a heartfelt rendition of “Don’t Speak,” following tributes to Ariana Grande in Miami, AC/DC in Brisbane, and Donna Summer in Boston.
Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism Tour — named after her chart-topping 2024 album — has already visited several major cities across the U.S., following its successful Asian and European legs. The setlist spans her entire catalog, including hits like “Levitating,” “Houdini,” “Illusion,” and “Don’t Start Now.”
With more North American dates ahead, fans are now wondering — who will Dua bring out next?
