On Good Morning America, Taylor Swift announced The End of an Era, a six-part docuseries that will premiere on December 12, on Disney+ and Hulu. The series promises fans a never-before-seen look at the creative journey, emotional highs, and behind-the-scenes moments that shaped the most successful concert tour in history.

The announcement comes alongside news of a new concert film, “The Eras Tour: The Final Show,” which captures highlights from Swift’s last performance of the tour in Vancouver.

In an official statement, the pop icon reflected on the significance of the project: “It was the End of an Era and we knew it,” she shared. “We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety.”

A Deeper Look Into “The End of an Era”

The End of an Era will span six episodes, chronicling the creation, cultural impact, and behind-the-scenes world of The Eras Tour — the record-breaking global phenomenon that redefined live music. The series will also spotlight key collaborators, family members, and friends, including Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, and Florence Welch, offering never-before-seen perspectives on the creative process and personal moments that shaped the tour’s legacy. The first two episodes premiere on December 12, with new episodes dropping weekly through early 2026.

The series continues Swift’s long-standing partnership with Disney+, following the success of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version), which became one of the platform’s most-watched debuts in March 2024. That concert film — directed by Sam Wrench — shattered box office records, grossing $267 million worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing concert film of all time.

Now, with The End of an Era, Swift appears ready to close the chapter on a career-defining era — one that has redefined live entertainment.

A Legacy of Record-Breaking Moments

The docuseries arrives on the heels of another milestone: Taylor’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which broke multiple streaming records upon its release earlier this month. The album debuted at No. 1 globally, generating over 1 billion streams in its first week.

The End of an Era — But Not the End of Taylor Swift

With The End of an Era and The Eras Tour: The Final Show, Swift continues to build her multimedia empire while offering fans an emotional farewell to a cultural event that defined modern pop.

For millions who didn’t experience the Eras Tour in person — and even for those who did — this December’s releases will bring them right back into the magic of the tour. Looking ahead, the 35-year-old superstar has no plans to return to the road anytime soon. “I’m so tired, like, when I think about doing it again,” she recently told BBC Radio 1. However, she left the door open for the future: “I want to do it really well, again.”
