Dominic Harrison, widely known as YUNGBLUD, enters a brand-new era with Idols, the first half of his two-part album project. The LP is set to drop tonight via Locomotion Recordings and Capitol Records and has been preceded by the singles “Hello Heaven, Hello,” “Lovesick Lullaby,” and “Zombie.” As the album release approaches, here’s everything you need to know.

Background and Themes

Marking his first body of work since the 2022 self-titled album, Idols is a conceptually rich, genre-defying 12-track project recorded over four years in Leeds—close to YUNGBLUD’s roots. To craft this album, he collaborated with longtime partners Matt Schwartz, Bob Bradley, and guitarist Adam Warrington. Sonically, it signals a shift away from radio-ready singles toward thematic storytelling, exploring ideas of hero worship, identity loss, mental health, and generational healing. YUNGBLUD also draws inspiration from some of Britain’s most iconic acts, including Oasis, The Verve, David Bowie, and Freddie Mercury.

To support the album’s release, YUNGBLUD will headline Bludfest—his own fan-first music festival—on June 21 in Milton Keynes. He’ll then embark on a headline tour across North America and Europe.
