On June 10, Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) officially announced his new studio album, Lost Americana. The highly anticipated LP is set for release on August 8, marking another new chapter and sonic direction for the GRAMMY-nominated artist.
In his career, Colson Baker, aka MGK, has always pushed boundaries, venturing into genres such as rock, rap, and pop-punk. According to the official press release, Lost Americana is described as an emotionally honest record that reflects on his past and redefines his future. Produced alongside longtime collaborators SlimXX, BazeXX, and Nick Long, the album is one of the most anticipated releases of the summer—and here is everything you need to know.

To build anticipation, MGK recently dropped his summer single “Cliché,” offering a first glimpse into the record. Serving as the lead single from Lost Americana, the song is primarily a pop-rock track. It debuted at No. 31 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 62 on the Billboard Hot 100. In the lead-up to the album’s announcement, MGK released reimagined versions of iconic songs like “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls, “Empty Out Your Pockets” by Juice WRLD, and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” by Green Day. While the official tracklist is still under wraps, Lost Americana will feature 13 new songs.
MGK will soon give fans another taste of his new material, as he is set to appear live on the TODAY Plaza as part of the Citi Concert Series on June 20. He’s also slated to headline the 30th Anniversary Vans Warped Tour in Washington, D.C., on June 14 and in Orlando, FL, on November 15–16.
