Gracie Abrams has officially entered her next era. The pop sensation has released her new album Daughter from Hell, through Interscope Records, marking the follow-up to her breakthrough 2024 project The Secret of Us.
Built around themes of identity, emotional growth and self-reflection, Daughter from Hell represents a deeper creative chapter for Gracie Abrams. The album arrives after months of anticipation, a series of successful singles, intimate live previews and growing praise from collaborators who have followed her artistic evolution.
Abrams described the record as a more introspective step in her songwriting journey rather than a complete stylistic change.
“This album feels more existential to me… it’s a bit less reactive. It doesn’t feel like a big shift for me in terms of the style but it feels like we’re mining deeper.”
As previously mentioned, the album follows The Secret of Us, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in 2024 and became the biggest commercial moment of Abrams’ career at the time. That project introduced some of her most successful songs, including “Risk,” “Close to You” and “I Love You, I’m Sorry.”
Ahead of release, Daughter from Hell had already generated significant momentum on the charts. Lead single “Hit the Wall” reached No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100, while “Look at My Life” debuted at No. 54 earlier this month. Gracie Abrams also previewed “Good Reason” during the final days of the rollout, giving fans another glimpse into the album’s emotional direction.
Producer Aaron Dessner, who has become one of her key collaborators, praised the project before release, calling it “the most moving and powerful work we have done together.” Dessner revealed that the pair began working on the album nearly two years ago, developing songs across sessions at Electric Lady Studios in New York, Long Pond Studio and other locations.
The Grammy-nominated singer celebrated release week with a special one-night-only performance at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom on July 14. Opening the intimate show with “Death Wish,” she performed a large portion of Daughter from Hell for the first time, including tracks such as “Broke My Heart,” “Imaginary Friend,” “Minibar,” “The Knife” and the album’s title track.
The new album will also lead Abrams into her biggest tour cycle yet. The Look at My Life Tour will feature 64 arena dates across North America, the United Kingdom and Europe, beginning in December 2026 and continuing through May 2027.
