Gracie Abrams continued celebrating the arrival of her new album with a national television performance. The singer-songwriter appeared as the musical guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on July 16, performing “Minibar” just hours before the release of her third studio album, Daughter from Hell.
The episode, which also featured Will Ferrell and Lupita Nyong’o, marked one Gracie Abrams’ return to the show after two years. Rather than performing one of the album’s charting singles, she chose “Minibar,” highlighting one of the record’s more intimate moments.
“Minibar” holds special significance within Abrams’ catalog. The song was written alongside her childhood best friend and longtime collaborator Audrey Hobert, with whom she first performed an early acoustic version during The Secret of Us Deluxe Tour at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, in August 2025. Nearly a year later, the finished studio version has now reached television audiences as part of Daughter from Hell launch.
Released on July 17 through Interscope Records, the new album represents Abrams’ most introspective project to date. Speaking about the album before its release, she explained that the songwriting explores broader questions about identity and existence rather than simply reacting to heartbreak.
“This album feels more existential to me… it’s a bit less reactive. It doesn’t feel like a big shift for me in terms of the style but it feels like we’re mining deeper.”
The 16-track collection follows 2024’s The Secret of Us, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and helped elevate Abrams into mainstream pop’s top tier. Alongside “Minibar,” the new record includes previously released songs such as “Hit the Wall,” and “Look at My Life.”
Abrams also gave fans an early preview of Daughter from Hell during her intimate Bowery Ballroom concert in New York City on July 14, where “Minibar” was among several unreleased songs performed live for the first time.
