Hayley Williams has officially introduced a new chapter in her ever-evolving career. The Paramore frontwoman has launched a fresh band project titled Power Snatch, formed alongside producer and songwriter Daniel James, one of her closest creative collaborators in recent years.
The project made its debut during Williams’ appearance on Apple Music 1, where she premiered the band in characteristically playful fashion. Teasing listeners with what sounded like a familiar track, Williams abruptly cut the audio, dropped a burst of airhorns, and declared “a band that needs no introduction” before unveiling new music credited to Power Snatch.
The first teased song appears to be titled “Assignment.” While the track has not yet received an official release, short clips and fan recordings from the Apple Music broadcast have already begun circulating online, quickly drawing attention from longtime followers of Williams’ work.
Power Snatch marks a continuation of Williams’ increasingly fluid approach to authorship and identity. Over the past few years, she has openly distanced herself from rigid genre and branding expectations, opting instead to explore multiple creative outlets. During the broadcast, Williams addressed that philosophy directly. “I’d like to be in a million different bands,” she said. “There are still more songs that I don’t think will be released by ‘Hayley Williams’ as such.”
Daniel James’ involvement is central to the project’s formation. The producer has worked extensively with Williams, including on her 2025 surprise release of 17 songs, which arrived independently via her Post Atlantic imprint following the end of her contract with Atlantic Records. James also played a key role in shaping her latest album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.
Hints of Power Snatch first surfaced months ago. Fans rediscovered an Instagram account, @powersnatched, which quietly launched in the summer of 2025.
The launch arrives as Williams prepares for a major touring cycle. Her Hayley Williams at a Bachelorette Party Tour is set to begin March 28, in Atlanta, before traveling across North America and continuing through Europe.
