HUNTR/X, the heroic animated trio from Netflix’s hit film KPop Demon Hunters, has made music history. Their single “Golden” has secured a fifth consecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, officially becoming the longest-leading No. 1 by an animated act in the chart history.

The track surpasses two legendary cartoon hits that previously held the record with four weeks each: “Sugar, Sugar” by The Archies in 1969 and “The Chipmunk Song” by Alvin & the Chipmunks with David Seville in 1958.

While animated acts have occasionally found major success on the charts, few have managed to sustain dominance in the way “Golden” has. The song’s blend of high-energy K-pop hooks, cinematic flair, and viral choreography has fueled its momentum on TikTok and streaming platforms. On Spotify, the song has spent over 50 days atop the Daily Global Chart.

The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack has been a powerhouse on the charts. Alongside “Golden,” HUNTR/X’s “How It’s Done” has climbed to a new peak at No. 8, while other soundtrack contributions continue to perform strongly. In fact, the film has now achieved a feat rarely seen in chart history: three songs in the Hot 100’s Top 5 simultaneously for three weeks running.
