HUNTR/X, EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, REI AMI, and the KPop Demon Hunters Cast are rewriting Billboard chart history. Their smash single “Golden” has now spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming one of the most successful soundtrack songs of the past decade. With its sixth week at the top, “Golden” surpasses “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Disney’s Encanto, which led the chart for five weeks in 2022. That makes it the longest-running No. 1 from a movie soundtrack this decade.

It is also the longest-ruling Hot 100 hit from a soundtrack since Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s “See You Again” from Fast & Furious 7, which spent 12 weeks at No. 1 in 2015. Among soundtrack singles, “Golden” now ranks as the fifth-longest leader in Hot 100 history.

The song’s success also highlights the strength of its performers. As an all-female collaboration between EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, and REI AMI, “Golden” has become the third-longest No. 1 by an all-female group of three or more members. It trails only TLC’s “Waterfalls” (seven weeks at No. 1 in 1995) and Destiny’s Child’s “Independent Women Part I” (11 weeks at No. 1 in 2000-01).

The dominance of “Golden” is part of a larger trend for the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, which has proven to be a commercial powerhouse. Other songs from the project remain strong inside the top 10 of the Hot 100 for a fifth consecutive week. The Saja Boys’ “Soda Pop” holds steady at No. 5, “Your Idol” slips to No. 6 from its No. 4 peak, and HUNTR/X’s “How It’s Done” slides to No. 10 after peaking at No. 8.
