Yesterday, on January 21, Jennie officially announced her debut solo album. Titled Ruby, the highly-anticipated LP is set for release on March 7. K-pop fans have been eagerly awaiting Jennie’s first full-length solo project since her debut single, “Solo,” dropped in 2019. Ruby will be released under Jennie’s label, Odd Atelier, in partnership with Columbia Records. The album features 15 tracks and boasts an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa, FKJ, and Kali Uchis. Fans already got a taste of the album with the release of “Mantra” in October, a commercial success that reached the top three on both Billboard Global charts.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Jennie shared exciting details about the album. The BLACKPINK member revealed that Ruby delves deeply into her ‘Ruby-Jane’ persona, making the title especially fitting. Musically, the album spans various genres and showcases both her singing and rapping talents. Looking ahead, Jennie is slated to perform at Coachella on April 13 and April 20, where she promises to deliver electrifying performances of her new material.
