Tonight, Jessie Murph is stepping into a new era. The 20-year-old breakout star is set to release her sophomore album, Sex Hysteria, on July 18 through Columbia Records. Marking a sharp evolution from her 2024 debut, That Ain’t No Man, That’s The Devil, this new record digs deeper into the singer’s identity, pain, and power with unflinching vulnerability.

Described as her most daring project yet, Sex Hysteria unpacks themes of generational trauma, bodily autonomy, desire, and emotional survival. As we’re just a few hours away from the album’s release, here’s everything you need to know about Jessie Murph’s second studio effort.

The Sound and Vision

Sonically, the album blends gritty trap-pop, Southern grit, and stripped-down ballads. Visually, Jessie leans into ’60s femme fatale imagery. According to a press release, in Sex Hysteria, “she reckons with the past, interrogates inherited trauma, and explores the emotional complexities of growing up in environments where feelings are buried deep. From confronting family wounds to reclaiming her body and desires, she pushes back against the shame and stigma that often silence women who dare to be loud, sexual, or emotionally honest. Sex Hysteria is both a provocation and a reclamation.
