Justin Bieber is officially headed to the biggest stage in world football. FIFA and Global Citizen announced on July 8 that the pop superstar will perform during the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show, joining an all-star lineup at New York New Jersey Stadium on Sunday, July 19.

The performance marks another major milestone in Bieber’s comeback year, as he joins Madonna, Shakira and BTS as co-headliners for the historic halftime spectacle. Curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, the 11-minute production will also feature Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus and a special appearance from Coldplay, bringing together artists from across the globe for a show expected to reach hundreds of millions of viewers.

Beyond the music, the halftime show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aiming to raise $100 million to expand access to quality education and football programs for children worldwide. According to FIFA, more than $50 million has already been raised, while $1 from every FIFA World Cup 2026 match ticket sold throughout the tournament will continue contributing to the campaign.

Bieber reflected on the significance of the event in a statement released alongside the announcement.

“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can. I’m grateful to be part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world.”

His return to live performance has been one of music’s biggest stories of 2026. Bieber’s headline set at Coachella became the festival’s most-watched performance ever, generating 147 million YouTube views worldwide before being released as SWAG LIVE FROM COACHELLA (WEEKEND I). The performance also reignited interest in his catalog, helping him surpass 105 million Spotify streams in a single day while placing seven albums simultaneously on the Billboard 200.

Music has played an increasingly prominent role throughout the FIFA World Cup. The opening ceremony featured performances from Katy Perry, LISA, Tyla, Future, Anitta and Rema, while Shakira’s official tournament anthem “Dai Dai” became one of the competition’s defining songs.
